EDUCATION - PTA capacity building

Community Organization for Peer Educators (COPE) in partnership with Democracy International (DI) build the capacity of Parent Teachers Association and School Management Committee PTAs/SMCs in Western Equatoria State, the training was aimed at building the capacity of PTAs/SMCs so that they can understand and carry out their roles and responsibilities effectively, the training targeted 60 executive committee members of PTA and SMC from four selected Schools of Awad, Sabegbia, and Einstin Grammar Nursery and Primary School in Yambio County.


PTA/SMC of selected schools were able to execute their roles and responsibilities effectively and efficiency by carry out community sensitization and awareness campaign urging the parents or care giver to send their children most specially females to be enrolled in schools.


PTAs/SMCs were able to mobilize financial and non financial resources so as to boost the economy of school for smooth running of the day to day activities in schools.

significant number of training was carry out in order to empower PTA, the training included PTA roles and responsibilities, Strategic planning Workshop, Resources Mobilization and Financial Management.
